This villa was built as lodgings for Dr Sommer, a curator at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. It is one of the few private houses commissioned by head of municipal planning Wilhelm Jost.<\/p>\n

The two-storey stucco building is distinguished from the other buildings of the neighbourhood by a curved hip roof and discreet Neoclassical details. The street-side fa\u00e7ade with its loggia and Tuscan pillars makes it look like a country manor and lends it a patrician, conservative-historical character.<\/p>\n
